796 (66196) Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown

Similar to T845 MAK, 796 was originally ordered and delivered to First’s South Yorkshire Mainline operations in 1998 as part of the first run of vehicles intended to modernise the South Yorkshire fleet.

Just like MAK, 796 was transferred in 2002 due to the arrival of other vehicles and renumbered 66196. Initially to Hampshire and Dorset and latterly to First Solent until withdrawal in 2016.

In 2017 the vehicle was purchased by South Gloucestershire Bus & Coach, operating on private hire and rail replacement work across the Southwest. However shortly after 796 was purchased by Brixham College near Paignton.

Presumed to be the last ex-First Renown to operate in revenue service, 796 entered preservation in March 2025 after being retired in late 2024.
